“Information concerning real estate services indicates that staging a home and removing staging items is permitted. Like all other in-person activities, staging activities must be by appointment, a total of no more than two people may be at property at any one time, and those two people must adhere to strict social distancing guidelines established by the CDC. Sellers should vacate the property prior to any staging activities.”
On a personal note, we’d be remiss in not telling you we’ve had our share of mixed emotions through all of this. Quite possibly, you do, too? You are aware of all the reasons to “Stay Home, Stay Healthy” yet need to address the needs of your clients. Your entire business is built around helping them and you don’t want to say no. You might even worry you can’t afford to say no. You certainly understand and appreciate your client’s desire to move forward with their real estate transactions. Especially those about to close! What’s the best thing to do? Is there a right or wrong answer?
We share these concerns. We have decided to proceed with caution:
SCHEDULING: We are responding to this update (and a huge influx of requests) as swiftly as we can. We are prioritizing destages by listings with closings pending. New orders will be scheduled around these destages, and in priority order of first-in, first-out. All requests go to firstname.lastname@example.org for Seattle and email@example.com for Phoenix.
DELIVERY: Deliveries will be no-contact. We’ll follow protocol per above - where you let us in and stay off the property while we are inside and have paperless signing via our text service. With the limit of two movers vs our normal three, the deliveries will take longer. This will also impact our scheduling calendar. Will Call appointments for you or your third party movers will be made available.
We appreciate the urgent nature of this business. It might be tempting to push hard on behalf of your client but please help us ensure that the health of your clients, you, and our team remains the top priority.
BILLING: We are keeping a pulse on what is happening in the market. Showings, offers, and closings are happening daily with the two-person limit. Restrictions against staging are lifted so we will begin billing on the original end date of the order 4/6 so that everyone gets a few extra comp days as we ramp back. All billing concerns go to firstname.lastname@example.org.
